At my last appointment, the first words out of my doctors mouth were, "You have had quite the weight gain this month." He went on to tell me that he didn't care that much and thought I looked fine, but the others doctors were real sticklers for weight and that I better start calorie counting, cutting back, and switching to healthier alternatives. I was a little embarrassed and shocked, I knew I had gained weight, but mostly blamed it on cravings and being bloated and constipated. However, in my moment of complete embarrassment I told him that there must be like 3 babies in there (Josh would kill me, but I think I was secretly hoping I was having multiples just for the sake of having a reason to have gained so much weight). So it got me to thinking and I took a look at my records from when I had Dylan. I am currently 14 wks pregnant now, and I weigh.........................160......and when I was 14 wks with Dylan I weighed 148, so that 12lb difference is quite substantial I suppose. So my goal is to have lost weight by Sept. 21st, my next appointment......so I will keep you updated on that. I know I can't stop eating, so my only choice is to move more, so I suppose exercise is in my future....guess I'm headed to the gym :-/.....
I was going to post my favorite picture of my baby belly, but since I think its more of a Taco Bell/McDonald's belly....I'll give it a few more months.
On the baby front:
He is the size of a lemon & I have definitely felt his flutters!!

A motherly warning.... DO NOT try to lose weight..... just maintain through exercise, by doing that you will be losing extra fat but gaining healthy baby weight... and it will all balance out in the end. I wouldn't worry to much over 10 pounds. You are completely right on in your comments to move more. The weather should be great for long evening walks. (just not to Dairy Queen).
ReplyDeleteLove you much.
MOM
Well I've never had any babies myself, but I do think your momma is right on the money with her advice. Heck, if you are doing Weight Watchers & you get pregnant you basically get kicked off the program until after the baby is born. That doesn't mean that they are not doing the program of eating healthy they are just maintaining.
ReplyDeleteHope this helps.
Love ya
Miss you all
